USEFUL INFORMATIONS

  • Operating hours (Vaporetto – water buses):
    ACTV water buses generally run from 5:00 AM until midnight, with some night lines operating until 4:30 AM. Service frequency depends on the line and time of day.

    Number of main lines:
    Venice does not have a metro, but the vaporetto network covers the Grand Canal, the main islands (Murano, Burano, Lido, Giudecca), and other lagoon destinations.

    Key vaporetto stops:

    • Piazza San Marco (San Zaccaria stop): Directly connects to Venice’s most famous square and landmarks.

    • Rialto (Rialto stop): Convenient for visiting the Rialto Bridge and nearby markets.

    • Murano (Faro stop): The gateway to the glassmaking island.

    • Burano (Burano stop): For colorful houses and lace-making tradition.

    • Lido (Santa Maria Elisabetta stop): Access to the Venice Film Festival area and beaches.

    Airport connections:

  • Company name of the shuttle bus: ATVO (Azienda Trasporti Veneto Orientale)
  • Name/Number of the Bus: ATVO Airport Express

    Main departure points:

    • At Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE):
      • Bus stop located just outside the Arrivals area, near the ATVO ticket office (Arrivals Hall exit on the right).
    • At Treviso Airport (TSF):
      • Bus stop directly outside the terminal building, marked “ATVO Venice Express”.
    • In the city:
      • Piazzale Roma (main bus terminal in Venice)
      • Mestre Train Station (Venezia Mestre FS)

    Timetable:

    • From Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE): daily from 06:00 AM to 12:20 AM
    • From Venice (Piazzale Roma / Mestre): daily from 04:20 AM to 10:40 PM
    • From Treviso Airport (TSF): timed to connect with flight arrivals; generally every 30–60 minutes
    • From Venice (Piazzale Roma / Mestre) to Treviso: about every hour
    • Journey time:
      • VCE ↔ Venice: ~20–25 minutes
      • TSF ↔ Venice: ~70 minutes
